Citrus Photography Art Prints

I love photographing food lately, it has become a new art medium for  me. I’ve photographed people for so long, it actually is a challenge to stage food, just so. I love the way citrus colors blend together: limes, oranges, and lemons are so cheery and happy.  I shared my Fresh Squeezed Limeade post earlier in the week, and mentioned that I use limes several times a week with almost any Mexican meal. I also shared my Creamy Jalapeno Ranch Dip which has lime juice in it, and with my cheesy Queso, I liven up my chips with lime juice, too!

The citrus colors have always made me  happy, and I’d wanted to pull them together for some art prints for my home.

I’d love to see if you print them in your home! I suggest printing a 16×20 or larger if you are placing on your wall. If on a table top, an 8×10 or 5×7 will work. Sams Club or Costco 16×20 prints are very economical at around $5 each, just remember to un-check the box that says to color correct or it will likely turn out dark.  Do you like this stuff? More photography art prints in the future?

Don’t ever let anyone Dim Your Glow

Glow.
We all have it.
Some of us don’t think we do.
Some of us are afraid to let that glow out, afraid of how we will be perceived.

What exactly is your glow, you ask?

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful Free Printable

When I was growing up,  my church would often share thoughtful quotes called MormonADs with images in the youth magazine we’d get each month. One of my very favorites (from 1986) that I had a poster hanging in my room was this Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful quote and scripture from 1 Samual 16:7 which says, “the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”

It’s the idea that there is a lot of beauty in this world, but we shouldn’t compare ourselves to others, we need to see our own beauty and recognize how special and unique we each are. This is a message I wanted my girls to realize as well, so I set out to create this idea…but modernize it a bit with the colors of their room, of course.

I asked one of my favorite Digital Art Creators, Kiki from Kiki & Company to create this for me. I told her what I wanted, and she produced it exactly! I LOVE it!… Continue Reading

Girls Fancy Bedroom Makeover

I’ve been dreaming of this day for over six months, to be finished with my Girls Bedroom Makeover and reveal and share it with all of you! If you remember back last fall, I begged everyone I knew to vote for my girls in a room makeover. We were in the top ten, and they made the cutest little video with a song that we’ve been singing for 6 months….”We need our room to be, the cutest that you’re ever ever gonna see” (to the tune of Katy Perry’s This is a part of Me). With each little element we’ve placed in their room, my youngest keeps saying, “Our room is going to be soooo cute” and as I tucked them into bed last night, I finally said, “Your room is DONE!” We laid in the bed and looked around, I couldn’t stop smiling. I love it so much, and I’m so happy that they do, too.

Enjoy lots of fun pictures, and in the coming days, I’ll share tutorials and tips on how I put together each element. So keep checking back!
