Maternity Photography~Baby D is coming to town!

I can’t believe it’s been so long since I shared portraits of people! Sometimes it just feels so “same old, same old.” But I really wanted to be the one to share these adorable pictures of my friend Jamie, who blogs at C.R.A.F.T. I got to know her almost a year ago, and it was so fun to get to know another local Austin blogger. She is just one of the sweetest, most thoughtful people I know. I’d heard all about how she met her husband, their wedding and travels, and of course one wonders when there might be a little one joining the mix. Around the end of August, I noticed her sharing some ideas on her blog that got me thinking…”I wonder if she is expecting.” She posted about Gender Reveal Party Ideas, and I actually wrote in the comments on the blog post:

Is this a hidden announcement, friend;) These are all cute ideas.

She wrote me back and said, YES! We are expecting!  She did her own gender reveal party, and found she’s expecting a boy!  You must also check out her adorable nursery!

I’d met her husband in passing a few times before, but it was fun to get to know him better, and see their sweetness at this fun and exciting time in their lives. It’s such a special time. She still has 8 weeks to go, and I had to giggle a little to myself when she said how big she was, and was wondering if she’d get that much bigger.

I said without hesitation.

I haven’t taken maternity pictures in a loooong time, they are kinda tricky, in my opinion. Only so many “poses” that work. But Jamie is so gorgeous and willing to do anything, that made is very easy for me! Here are just a few of my favorites:

Austin Senior Portraits: India

I love photographing teenagers their senior year of high school. It’s such a defining time in life, so filled with adventure and wonder and excitement. My friend Hildie asked me to photograph her daughter, India, and from following her on Instagram, I knew that she was just elected Homecoming Queen! How fabulous is that??

Her mom is also a gal I met through blogging, is a member of my church, and in the neighboring city. She is bold in her storytelling, and makes me laugh out loud when she tells stories about life with 6 kids. Check out Beehive and BirdsNest blog.

Back to Inda. Her lovely smile made it easy, and I had to force her to be “serious” in just a few shots.

Six Sisters Stuff Photo Session

What I love most about this blogging world is meeting new people and making friends, and these cute Six Sisters have become dear friends to me.

Six Sisters

{L to R: Kristen, Steph, Elyse, Kendra, Camille, Lauren}

I met a few sisters over a year ago, but we didn’t really get to know each other until last April, then even more so in June. The sister I’ve gotten to know the most has my same name–KRISTEN!  She has really been amazing to me helping me with some blogging things, and just being a sweet friend.

Sisters Family Portrait

When I went to Utah last month, I offered to do a Six Sisters + Families photo shoot and hoped to squeeze all of their little ones cheeks (only the 3 eldest have little  ones). Unfortunately, some of their peeps were out of town, so they asked if I wanted to take a few more of just the 6 of them. It was a SUPER HOT day in Utah, and the park we met at happened to be CRAZY CROWDED, but we found a patch of grass in the shade that was literally about 10 feet wide of good light, and took some pics. It was gorgeous light, and these girls just glow with happiness. Here I am pretending to be the 7th sister…7 sisters

I love that they were willing to do all sorts of fun shots, they make for a fun animated picture, for sure! (I hope I don’t get in trouble for any of these–I LOVE them!)

I love the bright and happy colors they chose, and their personalities just shine through in these fun images. How fun to have so many sisters, right? No brothers, just sisters. Just listening to them talk and laugh together made me smile…apparently they have a look alike buddy that they’ve decided years ago that they match up with…can you tell who they are?

Six Sisters Stuff

If you aren’t familiar with their blog, Six Sisters Stuff, you need to add them to your reads. They share great family friendly recipes, fun ideas, home projects and often TWICE a day! They’ve also started a really great recipe resource called My Recipe Magic, where anyone (not just bloggers) can share recipes and earn money.   I think it’s so great that they are on this blogging adventure together, they are such genuine ladies, and I’m grateful to call them friends;)

Head on over and check out their site, and tell them I sent you;)

Family Petite Portrait Sessions

I have had 6 petite sessions in the past week–5 in Utah and one right here in Texas. I wanted to make sure that they get their sneak peek before too long, so I’ve lumped 5 of them all together here with 2 sample images each (the 6th group has to wait a bit). Petite sessions are generally about posed shots, and I try to include a few candids, as well. I had so much fun with each group, mostly new friends, and one family that I’ve known for a long time–since the Delaware days (patriotic baby fam). Enjoy a little photo viewing!utah photography utah portraits family photography kids photography family photography family portraits fam pictures family pics family pictures sisters
