Living Room Makeover

I gave myself a deadline of January 30th to post my Living Room makeover. My husband doesn’t get why I give myself arbitrary deadlines. It may seem odd, but it helps me meet goals, especially when considering my goal in “finishing” rooms (check out the home tour). Generally when I share a room, I feel content, but I’m not so sure about this one, so feel to offer any advice!  This is the part of the room I love most: the angle of my recovered chairs, piano, and pink flowers in a vase.

For our home’s floor plan, our living room is actually deemed a dining room. I decided I wanted the space for casual reading, piano playing, and such, opting out of the dining situation. The room is an odd shape, and for a very long time we’ve had a little wooden bench that holds or cozy blankets in it (that I painted turquoise), but it’s just so small, it needed something bigger.

Urban Walls Vinyl Decals

I’m giving you a little sneak peek into my Living Room, which I plan to reveal in full at the end of the month. I used Urban Walls Vinyl Decals in the shape of hexagons, and I LOVE the way it looks!

Colorful Home Office Reveal

It’s done! Hooray!

Sheesh, this room took the longest (from start to complete) just because I wanted it to perfectly represent MY personality because it is MY room. When we had just one computer, it was more of a family room, but since we moved into this home 3 years ago (when this room held our only computer) we’ve acquired a laptop, iphones, ipads, chrome book, etc. So, it’s no longer the place for everyone to gather, it’s become my space, which I’m grateful to have because I know this is not the norm.  I never thought I’d have an office for myself….I never thought I’d need one!

We could never decide on what to call this room, either. In my family growing up, it was the study. In my husbands home, it was the den. We went back and forth, and I finally honed in on calling it the office (not even a craft room), a place to store my business related stuff and the big computer, too. So welcome to my Colorful Home Office Reveal!  I love the turquoise, pink, green, yellow, and teal colors–so happy!

Colorful Home Office Reveal

The color palate was inspired by this room I saw quite a while ago.

If you remember, my husband build the yellow desk (for under $50) over a year ago.  My green armoire used to hold our old school television, then we upgraded and my husband  made our Sliding Barn Door TV cover, so the armoire found a home in my office.

#WorldMarketMakeover

I’m partnering with World Market again to share about their Spruce Up Your Space campaign. A lucky winner will get a 5,000 shopping spree to WORLD MARKET!!! Pretty stinkin’ exciting, eh?  If I had 5,000 to spend at World Market on a room of my choice, I’d pick the very first room that you see upon entering my home.  My front room is supposed to be a dining room, but we’ve made it our living room with a piano and chairs. It’s so plain, I’ve just had no great vision for this space, so I’ve left it alone.  I created a World Market pinterest pin board for the room, and started collecting items that I’d like to see in it.

Here is the room now, lots of brown–just not me anymore. I really want to include this room in my once a month room makeover home tour this year, but I seriously am at a loss for what to do. I need help!

The piano could use a big mirror over it, more on the wall, more pops of color everywhere! I shopped around the World Market Website and found some fun stuff that would definitely spruce up THIS space!  Pretty much digging the purple patterned rug (3) and have ALWAYS loved the look of the wheels coffee table (2). And I LOVE LOVE LOVE maps of any kids (4) and have pretty much wanted a chaise lounge for years and years (14). And I must have really liked the chevron blanket because it made my collage twice! Here are some of the items I found that I loved. See direct links to each product below the collage.
