26 Delicious Dill Recipes

I LOVE the dill flavor. I don’t necessarily love dill pickles by itself, but the dill seasoning is delicious to me.  I was searching for some recipes with dill, and thought I’d share something delicious for those of you dill lovers out there like me.

Fresh Squeezed Limeade

About 7 years ago, our friends Gabe & Becca introduced us to the idea of Fresh Squeezed Limeade. I was never a big fan of lemonade, it was too tart for me. I don’t know why it never occurred to me to squeeze a lime instead of a lemon. I fell in love, instantly. Gabe’s mom is from Mexico, and she grew up drinking it daily. Limes, sugar, water– that’s all it is! I’ve shared this simple drink with many friends over the years, and it was new to them, too, so today I share it with all of you!

Who wants a Capri Sun?

Ask almost anyone who knows me well, I’ll take a Capri Sun over a soda any day. When I’m at birthday parties for children, I’ll often hear the host of the party point to the cooler of sodas for the adults, then the cooler of Capri Suns for the kids. I’ll wait til they aren’t looking, and sneak a kids drink for myself. I’ve always loved the little jolt of sweet sugar I get when sipping at those cute little pouches.

However, since I’ve experienced some weight loss, I’m much more conscious of the calories taken into my body and am setting a goal each day to consume more fruits and vegetables. I was so excited to be selected as a group of bloggers to review the new Capri Sun Super Vs . The “V” stands for…{looking over my shoulders to see if my kids are reading} Vegetables!

Yes, those sweet little juice pouches that I adore so much have come out with a fruity veggie version. It’s basically a win-win situation for me and my kids, because it’s got a serving of fruits/veggie combined and delicious! Lucky for me, they don’t know it’s got the veggies in it, it just says “V” on the pouch; I’m feeling SOOO sneaky! Next time I’m at a kids party, if the ice chest is filled with other juice boxes, I’ll be searching for the Capri Sun Super V to get that healthy kick with the sweetness I crave. Also, have you ever tried freezing the pouches to make a slushy? My kids LOVE that…try that as an afternoon snack on a hot summer day. As I get ready for school to start back, and I’ll need to start thinking again about packing a daily lunch, I think I might pop some of these pouches in every other day with the water bottles I’ve sent in the past. They don’t always eat the carrots or cucumbers I send, but now I know they’ll sip on these bad boys.

I’d love to hear some healthy snack alternatives that you’ve found your kids enjoy, I always need new ideas! Who wants to enter to win a $1000 or $500 Visa Gift Card? Share your healthy snack ideas in the comments to enter.

Red Hot Apple Cider

I like a little warm cider on a cool day, but I don’t care for the pre-mixed jug.  Too much…stuff in it.  I like an apple juice base with a few extras.  The other day, I had the juice, and hoped I had enough on hand to mix up something good.  I posted a query on my facebook page and got a few links, but when someone mentioned dropping some red hots in…my interest was PEAKED. Fascinated, I had to get my hands on some red hots and give it a try. I really didn’t want to go to the store again, and like a beacon from heaven, a friend close by said she had some red hots on hand.  I like the fruity twist to ciders as well, so I pretty much made up this recipe, and I kinda dig it. Plus, it’s a red beverage, so that makes it extra fun and Christmas-y.

 Ingredients:

Apple juice

Red hots (half of the bag above)

1 lemon (squezzed and dropped in)

can of pineapple chuncks (I just drained the juice out)

sprinkle of cinnamon

sprinkle of cloves

The red hots dissolve after a few minutes and it turns the juice red with a little kick to it!  You could just do the juice and red  hots and its good, I just added a little juiciness.
