Riley Blake Designs Quilt

I am so excited to share with you the beautiful quilt my friend made for my girls room with Riley Blake Designs fabric! I am quite obsessed with their beautiful designs, and I’m equally thrilled to be able to give away some fabric to a reader today!

But first, the quilt!

I love a beautiful quilt with modern fabric, but I’m not what one would call a “quilter.” I’ve actually made 3 myself (first, second, third), but they don’t look so great up close. I can sew a decently straight line, that’s it.  I swapped pictures for a quilt from Crystal, and I’ll admit, I love trades like this! My friend did an amazing job, and I can’t wait for my girls’ room to be all done so we can make their bed with this beauty!

I knew I wanted 4 main colors: pink, turquoise, light green, and lavender. Since there is a pretty dominant pink factor in the room already, I wanted pink to be a secondary color to the quilt and chose the turquoise as the main on one side (I like simple for bedspreads) and then the fun colors on the other side. What I LOVE about Riley Blake Designs is that they have coordinating patterns (polka dots big and small, chevron big and small) in the same color shades, so they go so well in quilt making or any project!

My girls were thrilled with their new gift…

…and delighted to open it…

…had to break it in, right, Crystal?

She did such an amazing job on all of the details, I love it! Here are just a few more shots:

I love the  pennant banner placed over the patchwork heart.

If you have questions for Crystal about the making of the quilt, ask away in the comments and I’ll direct her to them.

If you are on Twitter, follow Riley Blake here. If you are a Facebook lover, catch them here. Their pinterest page has all sorts of eye candy for how to use their fabrics, check that out here. Lots of fabulous videos on their YouTube channel HERE.

I’m also very excited to make the girls’ room window treatment and pennant banner with the same fabrics! I plan to do the entire room reveal after my Decorating with Portraits series, at the beginning of March!

{Edited to add: The Girls Fancy Room Makeover Reveal is up with all sorts of fun pictures!}
