Decorating with Portraits at The Letter 4

Hi! I’m Jamie and I blog with my sisters over at The Letter 4. We blog about crafty things, recipes, design, and fashion. I was overly excited when Kristen wanted to include us in this series of hers! And it finally got me to finish this bare wall that was desperately calling for photos.

So I took some frames I had on hand and traced them out on paper and hung them up to create my visual square. Then I painted up some of the frames and even covered one of them in fabric. The 4 corners I wanted to match with the green and then all the middle frames matched with black borders.

After all was hung up, I got to say goodbye to my big blank eye sore! My little family had a photo shoot this last summer with Melissa from Humble Takes so the larger photos I used those shots, and then the little photos will be switched out often of my little baby girl.

And of course I had to include some of my favorites like our family silhouettes! My daughter looooooooooves seeing her photos up on the wall (hey I would be as ecstatic as her too if I was that cute!) And now we rarely get to pass this wall without giving at least one photo a kiss.

Thank you so much for having me today Kristen! It’s been so fun seeing everyone’s portrait displays! You can see more of my sister’s and my ideas over at our blog!

Thank you, Jamie!  I love the green accents sporadically placed in with this arrangement, and I love that it’s right by your dinner table so you and your little one can “ooh and ahh” over it often.  As Jamie mentioned, she blogs with her sisters (4 of them) and they have all sorts of fun reads over there.  They even got to hang out with Martha Stewart and craft with her! I also love their grocery shopping printable and lots of fun hair tutorials!  I also hear that some of that are going to be at the SNAP blogging conference I’m attending, so I’ll get to meet them–yay! You can also find them on Facebook and Pinterest.

  1. I love the silhouettes!

  2. Love the idea of tracing your current frames and hanging them on the wall to “practice”. I am so intimidated by hanging several pics with different frame sizes in the same space.

  3. Thank you so so much for having us kristen! Can’t wait to “attack” you at the blogging conference hehe jk ;)
