Decorating with Pictures at ONE little MOMMA

Hello Capturing Joy readers! I’m Kilee from ONE little MOMMA. I blog about style, easy DIY projects and life as a momma of three boys. Before the birth of our eight month old little guy Knox, I spent months painting the entire interior of our house, getting home decor and photos hung in multiple rooms and putting together our nursery. I knew my time would be even more limited after the baby was born so I hustled (or waddled) my pregnant self to get the house “all done”. And it was true- I haven’t done a decor project again yet! But I’m so excited to get the chance to share some of our home and my hard work with you today! I’m no expert on photography or home decor, but I love easy and inexpensive projects that incorporate my personal style into my decor. It isn’t perfect, but this is our home.

One of my favorite way photo decor spots in our home is our eclectic living room gallery wall. This is was one of my first project in our new home (and as a blogger) and I still love it. Each of the frames were thrifted and although none of them match- they all work together. I hang our annual family photos in this space and continue to switch them out as we have new ones taken.

The main hallway in our house has another gallery wall. This one was somewhat of a nightmare for my husband to hang (aren’t they all though?),  but I love how it turned out! Each of the photos is a candid shot of our little family or the kids over the last seven years. I had them all printed in black and white and painted each frame with black spray paint. The line down the middle of the rows and the monochromatic colors really fills the space in an unexpected way!

I also love to use photos in my home in casual ways- like I did in my son’s nursery. I hung three cork boards in a row and then used push pins to tack up candid snap shots from his birth and of our family. The top board also has pics from the ultrasound when we found out we were having our THIRD boy. What a memorable day! I think ultrasound pictures are perfect for nursery decor- especially if your nursery has somewhat grown-up decor! You can see the rest of the nursery here.

Thank you for having me! I hope you’ll join me for more style and easy DIY projects over at ONE little MOMMA.

Thanks, Kilee!  I love how many places you have pictures hanging around your home.

  1. I love the hallway gallery- I’ve been looking for a good solution for changing out prints each year- my canvas obsession just isn’t very practical ;)
